Short answer first: yes, Olive Young Global is legit. It is the official online store of Olive Young (올리브영), Korea's biggest health and beauty chain, and it ships from Korea to dozens of countries. But there is one big change many shoppers missed. Since May 29, 2026, people in the United States can no longer order through Olive Young Global. US orders now go through a separate store, Olive Young US.
That change also explains a lot of the confusion around this year's "Olive Young advent calendar." Last year's calendar was a free gift on Olive Young Global. This year, the calendar people are talking about is sold by Sephora.
Below, we sort it all out: which calendar is which, when the big sales happen, how coupons actually work, and what to know about shipping, payment and customs before you buy.

Is Olive Young Global Legit?
Yes. Olive Young Global is run by Olive Young itself, not by a reseller. The site describes itself as the official global platform of Olive Young Korea, and its shipping page says it aims to bring you the same authentic products sold in its Korean stores.
It is also not a small side project. Olive Young says the Global app and website launched in 2019 and had about 4.53 million registered members worldwide by the end of 2025. Back home, Olive Young has more than 1,400 stores across Korea.
The real risk is not the official site. It is copycat sites and random sellers using the Olive Young name. So the first rule is simple: type the address yourself.

Why Can't US Shoppers Use Olive Young Global Anymore?
Because Olive Young opened its own US business. On May 29, 2026, it opened its first US store in Pasadena, California, and launched a US-only online store on the same day.
The Olive Young US Terms of Use say it plainly: customers in the United States can no longer buy for US delivery through Olive Young Global. If you had a Global account, you can log in to Olive Young US with the same email and password to move your account over. Olive Young says this transfer option is only offered for a limited time.
A few things change when you switch:
- Coupons issued on Olive Young Global cannot be used on Olive Young US.
- Your old Global account is closed after the transfer. Olive Young US offers matching reward points if you transfer your account and join its rewards program.
- You can no longer write reviews for things you bought on Olive Young Global.
Why does this matter to you? Mostly speed and surprise fees. Korea JoongAng Daily reported that Olive Young set up a distribution center (a big warehouse that handles customs and delivery) in Bloomington, California, so US orders no longer have to fly from Korea one by one. Olive Young says US shoppers get products with no extra import duty to worry about.
Olive Young US charges $6.95 for standard shipping, and shipping is free on orders of $35 or more (before tax). Orders leave in 1 to 2 business days and arrive within 5 business days in the lower 48 states, or 9 in Alaska and Hawaii. It does not ship outside the US, to US territories, to PO boxes or to military addresses.

Is There an Olive Young Advent Calendar in 2026?
Yes, but it is not sold the way it was last year.
This year (2026): Sephora lists a limited-edition "2026 OLIVE YOUNG x Sephora Advent Calendar." Olive Young picked the products. Sephora says it features 12 K-beauty "Hall of Fame" brands. Its product list shows 13 items, because one brand has two serums.
The brands inside, according to Sephora's listing, are MENOKIN, REJURAN, BIOHEAL BOH, Torriden, Arencia, Abib, S.NATURE, beplain, make p:rem, Cell Fusion C, FULLY and THOME. Most are travel or deluxe sizes, and the REJURAN ampoule is listed at 50 mL. You open one numbered box a day.
Two things to know before you plan around it. First, when we checked on October 19, 2026 (Korea time), Sephora's page showed it as "Coming Soon" and out of stock. Second, Sephora's page did not show a price we could confirm, so we are not quoting one here. Check Sephora's listing for the final price and release date.
The set comes from a bigger partnership. Since August 20, 2026, Sephora has sold an "OLIVE YOUNG K-Beauty Edit" of 19 Korean brands at more than 500 US Sephora stores and on Sephora.com, according to Sephora's newsroom.
Last year (2025): Olive Young Global ran its own "2025 OYG Advent Calendar" from November 24, 2025 (Korea time). It was not for sale. It was a free gift for orders above a set spending amount, and the official rules said:
- Only Olive Members (signed-in members) could get it.
- The spending amount was based on what you actually paid, not counting shipping or tax.
- It was first come, first served, while supplies lasted.
- It was only offered in the US, Israel, the UK and Australia.
Will Olive Young Global run a free-gift calendar again in late 2026? Nothing had been announced as of October 19, 2026. Keep an eye on the Events page of the site or app in November.
When Are Olive Young Global's Biggest Sales?
Mark four months on your calendar: March, June, September and December. Olive Young calls this its Season Sale. In Japan it is known as the "Oliyan Sale." It is the Global store's main sale and usually lasts about seven days.
Here are the 2026 dates Olive Young has announced so far (all in Korea time, KST):
- Spring: March 1 to 7, 2026
- Summer: May 31 to June 6, 2026 (dates from Olive Young's Japan announcement)
- Autumn: August 30 to September 5, 2026 (dates from Olive Young's Japan announcement)
- Winter: December 2026 dates not announced as of October 19, 2026
The summer and autumn dates come from Olive Young's announcements for its Japanese site, so other regions may differ by a day or so. Check the Events page in your own region.
Did you notice the pattern? The "June" and "September" sales started on the last day of the month before. So watch the site from the end of November, not just from December 1.
Two more timing tips. First, Korea time is ahead of the Americas and Europe. A sale that ends at 23:59 KST on a Saturday ends on Saturday morning in New York and Saturday afternoon in London. Second, the autumn 2026 sale in Japan started with a short "early bird" period before the main sale, with extra coupons for app users who turned on push notifications. So turning on app alerts a few days early can pay off.
How Do Olive Young Global Coupons Work?
This is where most people get confused, so let's keep it simple. There are two main types:
- Product coupon: takes money off one item.
- Purchase coupon (also called a cart coupon): takes money off your whole order, once you spend a minimum amount.
You click to download coupons first. After that, the cart applies them by itself. Product coupons go on each item, and then, if your total is high enough, the best purchase coupon is added on top.
During sales, the purchase coupons usually come in steps. For example, in the March 2025 sale, the English site offered 15% off orders over $89, 20% off over $109 and 25% off over $139. That was a past sale, not a promise for the next one, but it shows how the steps work. In spring 2026, Olive Young said shoppers in eight markets (the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Israel) could get cart coupons of 30% or more, depending on location. It also said cart coupons and app-only coupons could be stacked, meaning used together.
First-order coupons. New members start at the "BABY OLIVE" level and usually get a first-purchase offer. For example, the October 2026 welcome page offered a 30% coupon on one item, capped at US$7. That coupon expired on October 14, and it was not offered in several countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia and Japan. Welcome deals change often, and many depend on your country.
Membership levels. Olive Young Global has five levels: BABY, PINK, GREEN, BLACK and GOLD OLIVE. You earn points on purchases, from 0.5% at BABY OLIVE up to 2.5% at GOLD OLIVE. Higher levels also get birthday gifts and membership coupons.
Free gifts. Gifts like last year's calendar are based on your final amount after coupons. A big coupon can push you below the gift line, so check the cart before you pay.
How Much Is Shipping, and How Long Does It Take?
On Olive Young Global, free shipping starts at US$60 for most countries. Two exceptions: Japan (¥3,900) and Taiwan (US$35). Orders below the free-shipping line pay a shipping fee at checkout.
Typical delivery times from the official shipping page:
- United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand: about 4 to 5 days
- Canada and Puerto Rico: about 5 to 7 days
- Singapore and Taiwan: about 5 to 6 days
- Mexico: about 8 to 9 days
- Countries not on the list ("Other Regions"): about 15 days
Olive Young adds that these are estimates and can be delayed. Before shipping, your order sits in "Preparing Shipment" for 2 to 3 business days. At that point you can no longer change or cancel it.
One rule surprises people: Olive Young Global will not ship a single order over US$300, because of customs clearance (the check your package goes through at the border). If your cart is bigger, split it into separate orders.
Will I Pay Customs or Tax?
Maybe, and that money is on you. Olive Young Global's prices and shipping fees do not include taxes or customs duties. The site says this applies even to free-shipping orders.
Some countries pay tax at checkout. The official page lists the UK (VAT and duties may apply on orders over £135), Australia (10% GST), Norway (25% VAT), Singapore (9%) and the EU (depends on the country). Others pay when the package arrives. Canada may charge tax on orders over CA$20, and Israel may charge duties on orders over US$75.
Customs may also count free gifts, points and shipping when they value your box. The rules differ a lot by country, so a quick look at your own customs website is worth it.
How Do I Pay on Olive Young Global?
Olive Young Global accepts international credit and debit cards, Korean-issued cards and PayPal. PayPal works only with an international account, not one registered in Korea. Its billing page also mentions Apple Pay and Alipay+, plus reward points.
All prices are in US dollars. If your card uses another currency, your bank converts it. That means the final charge can be a little different from the cart, and a refund can come back slightly different too.
On Olive Young US, you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners, JCB, UnionPay, PayPal, Apple Pay and Klarna. Your billing address must match your card's address, or the payment may be declined.
Online or In Korea: Which Is Better?

If you are at home, the official online store is the safer choice over random marketplace sellers. Use Olive Young Global outside the US, or Olive Young US if you live there. Then time your bigger orders for a Season Sale.
